LPS March Featured Kit!!

This month at LPS, I have the pleasure to work with the gorgeous featured kit which has papers by Shabby Green Door (Wings of a Dream) and GCD (Ella Blue), and other fabulous products!

I was so inspired by this paper, that I decided to do a page about Spring, my daughter Aline, and my path to faith. This page may like another page about a cute baby girl sitting on the grass, but I included a poem of the same title by Emily Dickinson.

A Light exists in Spring
Not present on the Year
At any other period —
When March is scarcely here

A Color stands abroad
On Solitary Fields
That Science cannot overtake
But Human Nature feels.

It waits upon the Lawn,
It shows the furthest Tree
Upon the furthest Slope you know
It almost speaks to you.

Then as Horizons step
Or Noons report away
Without the Formula of sound
It passes and we stay —

A quality of loss
Affecting our Content
As Trade had suddenly encroached
Upon a Sacrament.

This photo was taken about the time my daughter and I were baptized and I was confirmed in our church, which was at the Easter vigil. The "Light" in the poem is special because it refers to Jesus, the light of the world, and also my daughter's name is Aline, which translates to "light". I decided to become a Catholic when I was pregnant with Aline, and I attended classes for over a year while pregnant and while she was a newborn. The poem refers to a "Sacrament", which represents to me the sacraments of baptism and confirmation. It was a very special moment for us to both receive the Sacraments at the same time.
