Cards, Cards, and More Cards!!!

Sandra at LPS had an awesome challenge over the past month or so to create as many cards as we could! Each two cards count as one drawing towards two fabulous prizes! I managed to make over ten cards. I would have made more, but cards are not really my thing. It was a great incentive to get some completed though! Here are a few of them.

Get "Krafty" Challenge

As I was trying to think up ideas for my challenge of the week at LPS, I was working on a layout using the papers from the May mini kit by Jillibean Soup. It features recycled kraft based papers with some designs printed on the surface. I realized I had never done a layout with kraft papers before, and was surprised to realize this! I decided that would be my challenge - to use kraft papers on a layout!

Here are my examples.

June LPS DT Layouts!

I'm a little late in blogging about my June DT submissions at LPS! I really had a blast working with Cosmo Cricket Snorkel!! This kit just screams SUMMER, KIDS, FUN! The bright, cheerful colors work just as well on layouts of your background bar-be-que as they do on beach pages. The kit addition was fantastic, as well! It featured Maya Mists in orange, Tim Holtz gear masks, some mini alphas by Maya Road, and bling! I got a kick out of spraying everything with the mist, and have discovered that punchinella makes an interesting mask for the spray!

Here are my designs:

Altered Bits and Pieces

I've been busy with all sorts of altered projects this past week! First off, I finally finished the Artist Trading Cards for the swap at LPS. This was the first time I've ever attempted ATCs, and I got a little nuts over the whole thing! The theme was Spring.

This next altered project idea came from Sandra's class on altered picture frames. I bought one of the $1 frames at Michael's and covered it with old Cosmo Cricket Halfway Cafe paper. I hope to give it to our neighbors, who just moved to another town. The photo is of our kids last summer.

We are in the middle of a fun contest at LPS called Ready, Set, Slow. The challenge for the first heat of the second round was to create a card kit, and then make two cards with it! This was my entry.

The final challenge was to scraplift something out of the gallery! I chose to lift Melissa's (whimsypic) elegant tags.

I've had fun with these projects, but now I'm itching to do some scrapbook layouts!! Luckily, I still have two kits from May that I haven't used at all, and my June kits are on their way!! I better get scrapping!
