Sketch Inspiration Layout

Life Preservers will be the sponsor next week for Sketch Inspiration. The DT was asked to provide a layout using this adorable sketch.

I had fun with my layout, but am disappointed with how it looks in the photo. The green looks a little like split pea soup, and it is much cuter in real life.

May Mini Book

I just received my May kit from Life Preservers Scrapbook Club last week, and was so inspired by the fun papers (Crate - Brook, MME), that I decided to make a mini book with all the extra photos I have of my sons. Here is what I have completed so far.

A New Challenge at Life Preservers Club!

This week was my turn to come up with a challenge at LPS. I wanted to do something that was simple and easy, but fun. I got this great idea from Julie Fei-Fan Balzer's blog! The challenge is to split your page in half right down the middle. Then, place your photo on one side, and another element of equal weight on the other side of the line. This page was so easy to do! Another layout and project from the LPS Cambridge kit

Here is one more layout made with the LPS April alternate kit! This was such a fun masculine kit, it made me think of this old photo of my two great uncles, Carl and Earl Chamlee! In the photo, they are both playing the banjo. It reminded me of how my father loved to play music (which of course involved vast quantities of alcohol).

Image Transfers

I've been playing around with gel transfers for the past few days. I actually posted a class on this on the Life Preservers message board. I love the effect, although it takes a little practice to perfect. You can find the complete class and directions here. Here are a few of my examples.

Here is an ATC I did using a transfer made from a picture from a magazine.

This card was made using a transfer of a vintage clip art image from the internet.

Her are a few of my early attempts. I love the artsy distressed look of these images.
