March LPS kits!!!

If you haven't seen the gorgeous Life Preservers Scrapbook Club kits for March, you are going to die! There may be a few more kits available, so check it out! I'm so excited to get to work with the Featured Kit next month! It reminds me of when my kids were little. My daughter had a dress with that exact cherry print! The project kit is to die for, as well! I love this club, because there is something for everyone.

Cruise Around the World in Eight Layouts!!!

There is a new challenge at Life Preservers Club! The cruise challenge started February 2nd! I am determined to complete the layouts, although I'm not eligible for any of the prizes. Here is my week one layout. The challenge was to use a heart in your layout. I took a white heart doily and inked it up with Ranger Alcohol Inks and Distress Inks.

Here is my week #3 layout. Our challenge was to scrap our favorite movie somehow. I chose "Home for the Holidays", which is one of my favorite holidays movies. I wrote about how we always stay home on Christmas, and why.
This is my week #4 layout. The challenge was to scrap about something you would miss. I decided to scrap about missing my two oldest children when they were little. I used one of my favorite photos of the two of them together!

February LPS Design Team Submissions!!

I had the opportunity this month to create some projects with the gorgeous LPS Featured kit by Fancy Pants (Splendid Line)! This kit was very versatile because it was romantic and whimsical, perfect for layouts of the kids or more grown up pages!

This one was done using the mini kit by Basic Grey (Bittersweet). This kit was so yummy!!

Snow in Central California?!!!

On Monday, we were surprised by a rare snow storm! It only snows here about once every ten years, or so. It had been raining all night. As Greg left for work, he announced it had started to snow! Mixed in with the rain was the occasional snow flake, and slowly it began snowing instead of raining! The flakes were big and wet, and melted as soon as they hit the ground, but it was definitely snow. I took a few photos.

Avast Ye Mateys!!!

What's this I see?!! Can it be pirates?!! They've taken over our home and bathrooms! This past weekend, Leo and Joey were part of the pirate chorus in there school's production of "The Pirates of Penzance"! It was an such an exciting show! We are a little relieved it's over, because now we can move on to other serious issues like Valentine's Day, homework, and preparing for their piano recital this month. Here are some photos of the boys in make up:

January Sketch!

The January LPS http://www.lifepreserversclub.com/ sketch was borrowed from Becky Fleck's Page Maps http://www.pagemaps.com/:

I did a layout for the contest, although I'm technically not eligible to play. I just loved this sketch! I was able to use product from the January Project kit by Jenni Bowlin, which was absolutely yummy! Here was my take on the challenge:

Check out the February Sketch Contest!! The winner wins a guest spot on the LPS Design Team!
